Ken Sunshine calls a report that Bon Jovi is actively involved in purchasing the Bills "preposterous." Sunshine notes the Bills are not for sale and adds that Bon Jovi has too much respect for owner Ralph Wilson to consider engaging in discussions for buying the team.

Sunshine spoke by phone Monday, a day after posted a story citing unidentified sources that Bon Jovi is among the parties positioning themselves to purchase the Bills after Wilson's death. The 95-year-old Wilson has maintained he has no interest in selling the franchise during his lifetime.

Jon has spent a lot of time in the Buffalo area, according to CBS Sports, and meeting NFL owners in anticipation of making a bid for the team. As a former owner of the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul he has continued to cultivate his football ties. He is a close friend of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and has met with a number of NFL owners.

He is also active in the national Democrat party appearing at fundraisers over the years for President Obama, Al Gore, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and John Kerry.  Jon also teamed with Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) in bringing relief dollars to his hometown of Sayreville and personally making large donations to the governor's relief fund.  The two also worked on getting Good Samaritan legislation passed in New Jersey.

There was speculation that Jon the real reason Richie Sambora left Bon Jovi was because Jon was trying to cut band costs and dropped Sambora as the band's highest paid member.
