One Year Ago Today!

Today, 12/26/11 was a pretty comfortable day….40ish or so!

Last year at this time, perhaps instead of going to the mall to regift the stuff you didn’t much care for, you were probably going to Wegmans to stock up on milk, eggs, and bread for the onslaught of the “French Toast” marathon, otherwise known as the blizzard of 2010.

Last year’s rivaled some of the worst we’ve ever seen. The blizzard of 1996 on January 7th of that year (26 or so inches); the blizzard of 1978 right after the new year (I was down in Georgia, so I don’t remember the total amount), the blizzard of Christmas Eve 1966 (the one I mentioned in “The Year of the Skinny Santa”); and the blizzard of 1947 (which I wasn’t even being thought of at the time).

Last year’s gave me a good excuse to leave the lights outside the house up for at least a couple of weeks extra.

Somehow I’m thinking I may not be so lucky this time around!
