On Saturday night, I hosted the first annual "New Year's Eve Game Night" at my sister's house. It was an attempt to breathe some life into our annual celebration, which has dwindled in the fun department over the last few years.

We played Wheel of Fortune, Match Game, Don't Forget the Lyrics and LCR (classic dice game).

Despite game night lasting for two hours longer than expected, and a few minor mistakes on my part, the attempt was a success.

Contestants ranging from the ages of 12 to 88 truly enjoyed each game, and they were approaching each game in a competitive manner (my biggest fear was that they wouldn't). It definitely helped that there was a $25 Visa gift card up for grabs, along with some other impressive prizes.

It seems everyone would certainly welcome another game night on December 31, 2012.
