PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP — Police a say a 23-year-old mother wasn't wearing her seat belt when she was involved in a fatal car crash Saturday morning.

Samantha Wenzel's vehicle struck a tree and overturned near a curve at Junction Road and Mount Misery Road at about 1 a.m., NJ Advance Media reported. The report states that Wenzel was transported to Lourdes Emergency Room at Deborah hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, police told NJ Advance Media. Pembterton police handling the investigation could not immediately be reached for information.

On Saturday, a GoFundMe page was started in order to raise money to help Wenzel's family care for her infant son, Jaxon, the page states.

"This money will be used to care for Samantha's baby, Jaxon, during these hard times," Lainey Regan, the page's creator, wrote. "Our thoughts are with her family forever."
