The study considered several financial factors, including credit scores, accounts in distress, and bankruptcy filings among other factors to determine each state’s financial distress ranking, and New Jersey comes in at # 39.

In other words, the Garden State is one of the least financially distressed states in the country.

That may come as a surprise to the New Jersey residents who are living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to make ends meet, but it shows how much money there is floating around the Garden State to affect the averages.
