Motorcyclist dies after hitting New Jersey school bus

MOUNT LAUREL — A motorcyclist died after colliding with a school bus on Monday morning.

The collision with a Mount Laurel Township school bus took place on South Church Street near Country Lane around 8 a.m., according to Mount Laurel Police. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said no students on the bus were injured. In a statement on its Facebook page Mt. Laurel Township schools said Bus No. 7 was headed to Countryside School. Counselors and the school nurse were meeting with students.

Superintendent George Rafferty told NBC Philadelphia 34 students in ranging from kindergarten through grade four were on board and taken to school on a different bus.

The identity of the motorcyclist was not disclosed.

The cause of the crash is not yet known and remained under investigation.
