After the mercury topped 90 degrees Tuesday, we're expecting another scorcher on Wednesday and very warm weather for the rest of the work week.

Most Garden State residents aren't complaining about the first mini heat wave of the season. In fact, they're rather delighted.

"After the freezing cold winter, all that snow, this is awesome," said one shopper in Mercer County, who wanted to "pretend I'm in Florida, not in New Jersey! I just turned on the air (conditioning) today for the first time, believe it or not. I love it, the warm weather, I'm relishing it."

Another nearby shopper nodded his head in agreement.

"Hot weather, I sure do love it," he said. "Couldn't be better, good pool weather. I'll take the heat anytime to the cold."

One shopper said he didn't like the humidity but "the hot weather, I don't mind. I lived in the desert."

Another woman said, "I love it, I love the hot weather. It's hot, but I love it. I mean, the cold winter was very brutal, so the summer is really nice."

A man dressed in shorts and a dress shirt agreed.

"It's kind of nice, I like it," he said. "My office is sort of cold, so I enjoy going out to lunch."

But not everybody was happy with the mini heat wave.

"I'll be glad when it's gone," said an elderly woman who was sweating heavily. "As they say -- the colder the breeze, the tighter the squeeze, honey!"
