What does Miss New Jersey Lindsey Giannini look for in a date?

Last night, she found someone who's "very mature, positive, and has the kindest heart," she said —  Marcus Josey, a senior at Northeastern High School in Manchester, Pa. who has battled B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia for the last six months.

Giannini, with her Miss New Jersey sash accompanied Josey to his homecoming dance — the first one she's gona to, as she missed her own for a community service event.

They were joined on the way in by an escort of about 40 motorcycle riders around their limo.

"I've never been a part of something like that," Giannini wrote to New Jersey 101.5 "We received such wonderful treatment. They took us to and from pictures, and dinner, and the dance!"

A video by Brandon Stoneburg of the York Daily Record captured the ride and grand entrance.

"For me, it's a personal thing. I lost my little sister about a year ago to cancer," Larry Julias of the Shiloh American Legion Riders told the newspaper.

While there, the two connected as well with Hope Westrick, another cancer patient at Northeastern. Marcus told New Jersey 101.5 via Twitter he's spent a lot of time in Penn State Hersey Medical Center with Hope.

"It was a real joy to be with him," Giannini said.
