As Dan Zarrow put it: "They handed me a baseball and I threw it!"

It's that sort of in-depth knowledge of sports strategy that makes him ... an excellent meteorologist. An excellent pitcher? Well, you'll just need to judge for yourself.

Zarrow's just the latest New Jersey 101.5 personality to head to TD Bank Ballpark and throw out the first pitch for the Somerset Patriots. We've sent Jeff Deminski and Bill Spadea there in recent months. And as always, the Patriots were wonderfully gracious hosts.

Our morning crew of Dan, traffic reporter Jill Myra and anchor Patrick Lavery treated a bunch of prize-winning audience members to lunch in a suite at the game as well.

"This was redemption for me, having completely botched last year's first pitch attempt," Zarrow said.
