Morris County prosecutors say 23-year-old Daniel Wendt, of Boonton, is charged with attempted murder and weapons offenses. He was arrested early Sunday in Brooklyn.

The charges stem from a shooting Friday afternoon at a Whippany hotel. The shooting victim was treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound.

Amelia Valentin, a 24-year-old Paterson resident, was arrested with Wendt and is charged with child endangerment and hindering apprehension. Prosecutors say both counts stem from the ongoing investigation into the shooting, but they wouldn't disclose further details.

Both Wendt and Valentin were being held in New York, pending extradition proceedings. It's not known if they have retained attorneys
