Man found dead in car was shot before hitting South Jersey tree, police say
BRIDGETON — A man found dead after his car crashed into a tree in South Jersey had been shot beforehand, police say.
Bridgeton Police said they found a 53-year-old Vineland man inside the car after it hit a tree on Spruce Street around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Officers determined that the man had been shot prior to the incident and were looking for a second occupant seen getting out of the car after the crash.
Police did not release a description of that person or disclose the identity of the man found inside the car.
