KTVM-TV reports 19-year-old James Sinclair Welch of Bronxville, N.Y. pleaded not guilty Monday to vehicular homicide while under the influence in an appearance in District Court in Madison County.

Welch is charged with the Aug. 2 death of 19-year-old Parker Regan of Mendham, N.J. Court records say Welch told officers he was driving the ATV around a curve when Regan fell off.

Deputies said they could smell alcohol on Welch's breath. He refused a breath test so officers obtained a warrant to collect a blood sample.

The Yellowstone Club is an invitation-only residential club, ski and golf resort northwest of Yellowstone National Park.
