Man Charged in Four NJ Bank Robberies
An alert off-duty detective has helped catch an alleged serial bank robber.
David Carroccia faces four counts of bank robbery and one count of attempted bank robbery.
Citing court records, the Daily Record of Parsippany reports an off-duty Mount Olive detective spotted the Warren resident's Mitsubishi Galant on Route 78 that matched a description of the getaway car.
The 28-year-old Carroccia was caught on surveillance pictures dressed in a suit jacket and tie and wearing a hat. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
The suspect's mother tells the newspaper her son recently finished computer school and told her had recently landed a job in New York that was supposed to start this week.
He's accused of robbing banks in Parsippany, Mount Olive and Lincoln Park.
