Lawmakers tackle Atlantic City

There is a lot at stake for politicians in Atlantic City as the resort town tries to transform from a gambling to event center.

While there are no shortages of plans and schemes to jump-start the city's economy, it currently holds one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation.

Gov. Chris Christie is set to host a summit in Atlantic City this week.

On Monday, Senate President Steve Sweeney got a jump-start on Christie by introducing his own plan, which includes big gifts for the unions.

The move by Sweeney is widely seen as a way to shore up his base for a possible run for governor.
