Friday's massive fire in Keyport caused $613,000 worth of damage according to the borough's administrator.

Borough Manager Stephen Gallo told the Asbury Park Press the fire destroyed three buildings, three businesses, displaced four families and damaged an adjacent park along the borough's waterfront.

The five-alarm fire broke out Friday afternoon and injured 41 people, including eight firefighters who were hospitalized, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Charles Webster. Several firefighters were inside one of the buildings when a wall collapsed. All were released by Saturday night, according to Webster, who said the investigation into the cause of the fire was still underway.

The borough continues to try and help those who lost their homes in the fire with a gift card collection in the lobby of the Borough Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Donations of cash or tangible goods are not being accepted. The Keyport Library will accept gift cards on Wednesday, April 13 at 3:45 pm.

A GoFundMe page has been created for Gina Crescio and her daughter, who lost their home in the fire. A page has also been created for Jennifer DeMeo, a veterinarian at the Atlantic Highlands Animal Hospital. Her three cats perished in the blaze. Her neighbor also lost her home, according to a GoFundMe page set up to collect donations for the two residents.
