CAPE MAY COUNTY


Bring your family and friends to the 7th Street beach for the 13th Annual Chip Miller Surf Fest, a community-wide surf contest. This grass-roots family event has grown to be one of the largest surf events on the East Coast and attracts some of the biggest names in surfing including Bethany Hamilton, Brad Gerlach, Rob Machado and local NJ pro, Rob Kelly. Divisions include Groms, Boys, Girls/Women, Junior Men, Men, Masters, Longboards and Parent/Child. The Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation, the beneficiary of this event, raises awareness of amyloidosis, helps people afflicted with this disease, and supports research facilities. Amyloidosis occurs when abnormal protein, called amyloid, builds up in one or more organs to cause a malfunction. 7 am – 1 pm. Register online. Surf contest registration is $35 for the first division entered, and $10 for each additional.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY


The Gloucester County 4-H Fair offers safe, family-friendly entertainment. In addition to meeting more than 400 4-H members who are exhibiting and demonstrating their project areas, the Fair offers a hog, lamb and beef auction, draft horse pull, musical acts, pony rides and more.

The Bayonne Renaissance Festival is a brand new endeavor by the Bayonne Theater Company. This family event will bring us back to the Renaissance Period though theatrical arts, artisan crafters and many other great elements. This is a "Free" Event happening in Bayonne, New Jersey featuring well respected talent from The New York Renaissance Fair, New Jersey Renaissance Fair, Connecticut Renaissance Fair, The History Channel, and sooo many more. Some of the acts include The Crimson Pirates, The Valhallas Pirates, Three Pints Shy, The Creepy Bard, & Celtic Magician Daniel Greenwolf.

The largest summertime hot air balloon and music festival in North America takes off again! Featuring more than 100 hot air balloons from around the world, live concerts and non-stop affordable family entertainment, the Festival is a must on everyone's list of Things to Do this Summer. The festival features the awe-inspiring spectacle of 100 colorful hot air balloons taking flight twice each day over the scenic Hunterdon County countryside, headlining concerts from Grammy Award winners, Rock-and-Roll Hall of Famers and the latest teen sensations, children's amusement rides, age-appropriate family entertainment and attractions, the Running with Balloons 5K race and Family Fun Run, intertactive exhibits from leading consumer brands, and hundreds of arts and crafts and food vendors. Susan Plaisted will lead an engaging program exploring the experience of taking tea in the Colonies. The lecture will include artifacts, slides, and tea samples! Plaisted is proprietress of Heart to Hearth Cookery, a food history business based in Bucks County, PA. Her specialty is American and Native American food during the Colonial Period and she holds a B.S. in food and nutrition and an M.S. in health education. The lecture will be held in the 18th century Wade-Wyckoff Barn. The program runs from 7 - 8:30 pm. There is a $5 suggested donation.

MERCER COUNTY


Celebrate Jersey Fresh and one of our state's favorite fruits by joining us for our Just Peachy Festival from 10 am - 5 pm. The festival is free and will include live music both days. A special feature of this festival will be our "Summer Harvest" farm-to-fork tasting section featuring local chefs using local ingredients to prepare recipes for visitors to sample. The tasting area will be open from Noon - 4 pm both days and admission to the special tasting section is $12. The weekend will be filled with plenty of activities for kids: a ride through the orchards on our tractor-drawn wagons, pony rides, games and barnyard fun. Bring your appetites for Pam's Food Tent, filled with lots of tasty treats: peach pie, sliced peaches and cream, peach salsa, BBQ chicken, hot dogs, gazpacho, salads, donuts, and cider slushies. Make sure to visit our winery tasting room to sample our peach sangria. Admission to festival is $5.

Join us at Howell Living History Farm for a truly enjoyable day! The fair includes 4-H animal shows and exhibits; food and homemade ice cream; hay rides; pony rides; music; farm tours and demonstrations; milking demonstrations; spinning, felting, and fiber demonstrations; children's crafts and activities; and displays by organizations such as the Master Gardeners of Mercer County and the Mercer County Wildlife Center.

The Old Barracks Museum celebrates history, music and warm summer evenings with the fourth annual Taptoe Concert Series. At dusk, the guards will recreate the march through the town signaling the time for the taverns to close their taps and soldiers to return to their barracks. The evening will be illuminated with dramatic lighting along with The Old Barrack Band of Musick's musical production of The Battle of Trenton, a military sonata dedicated to George Washington, composed by James Hewitt (1770-1827) coupled with dramatic vignettes by Richard Bales circa 1950. Ticket prices are as followed: $25 reserved balcony seating with included light refreshments; $10 lawn seating; $20 reserved balcony seating for Old Barracks Museum members.

For the 6th consecutive year, Music & Wellness will be blissfully joined together at the Soulsational Festival to take place at Veterans Park from 11 am - 8 pm. The festival is a free community event featuring live music, giveaways, a silent auction, and lots of opportunities to give back and unite the Jersey Shore community! The festival is expected to reach an audience of over 5,000 people with continuous main stage entertainment including great local original New Jersey musicians, free group classes, and demonstrations. The day will also be packed a full schedule of free events for the entire family of all ages, and many vendors. The event will be rounded off with interactive exhibits, healthy food options and organic beer, and numerous planned activities - there is something for everyone!

WARREN COUNTY


This year the Warren County Farmers' Fair is celebrating its 79th year! A family fun event that also features a Hot Air Balloon Festival with up to 35 balloons. Explore the Traditional Arts Building featuring demonstrations of quilting, lacemaking and more. Other highlights include 4-H and FFA exhibits and contest. Main arena events include demolition derbies, mud bogs, lawnmower races and tractor/truck pulls (some additional charges apply). The balloon festival features mass hot air balloon launches, tethered balloon rides, hare and hound races and the unique Bicycle Balloon Race, where pilots and cyclists pair up in a race of skill and speed. The Kids' Corral is a fun and magical place where children can play, learn and even enter some contests. Best of all, activities at the Kids' Corral are free of charge to fairgoers.
