Friends and followers knew Ayzia Toledo as a young creator whose lifestyle and travel posts were rapidly building an online audience. Just hours after hosting an event in Philadelphia, the 22-year-old's life came to a sudden end in a crash on a South Jersey highway.

New Jersey State Police said Toledo, who had amassed roughly 345,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, was one of two women killed Sunday night when her BMW left Route 55 in Deptford, overturned and struck a tree. Authorities are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.

Toledo, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was driving on Route 55 after coming off Route 42 around 10:55 p.m. when she lost control of her BMW, according to State Police. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the highway, overturned and struck a tree.

Toledo and front-seat passenger Henrietta F. Carter, 22, of Darby, Pennsylvania, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger riding in the back seat suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Crash followed a Philadelphia event

The crash remains under investigation, according to State Police. Rain was falling in the area at the time, according to New Jersey 101.5 Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow.

Known online as "Ayzia J," Toledo had hosted a daytime event at The Horseman in Philadelphia earlier Sunday, according to the venue's Instagram page.

Screenshots of Toledo's Instagram story published by the Daily Voice showed her attending the event before the crash.

Family remembers her growing impact

A GoFundMe campaign created to help Toledo's family with funeral and memorial expenses described her as a young woman with a bright future.

"She was building an incredible future for herself, making a meaningful impact and creating a growing presence across social media platforms," the fundraiser said.

Between her Instagram and TikTok accounts, Toledo had built a combined audience of about 345,000 followers through lifestyle and travel content.
