It’s Really Too Bad…

Have you been to a pro football or basketball game lately? Probably not, unless you're rich!

Watching the football playoffs on TV this past weekend, I started thinking about how long it’s been since I’ve been to a game – playoff or regular season.

It’s been so long, I can’t even remember!

Going to see your favorite team in person used to be expensive, but now it's insane! For two people you’re talking about hundreds of dollars, plus parking, and if you’re hungry or thirsty, be prepared to take out a bank loan, because you’ll get positively soaked!

I don’t even want to get into the “who’s to blame” argument, because I understand that pro sports is a big business, and everybody is trying to grab as much as they can – as much as the market will generate – but I just think it’s a real shame that for a whole generation of kids, they’ll probably never know how exciting and fun it can be to actually go to a game and root for “your team” in person.

It’s really too bad!
