NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor service was running with major delays between Trenton and Metropark after a man was struck and killed on the tracks in New Brunswick.

Spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said the man was struck by a train heading from Trenton to Penn Station New York approaching the Jersey Avenue station at around 4:45 a.m. She said 300 passengers on board were moved to another train to continue their trip. No other injuries were reported.

As of 9:30 a.m., delays of 45 minutes were still reported in both directions due to the incident, which caused the line to be suspended for 30 minutes after the initial report and response by police. Amtrak is also experiencing delays.
