Lamont Herbert Dozier was born on June 16th 1941.

For starters, he is in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2009 was the recipient of the coveted Johnny Mercer Award for lifetime achievement.

In case you don't know by now, Dozier is partially responsible for fifty-four number one Motown hits.  Yikes, fifty-four number one records!

Along with brothers Brian and Eddie Holland, Mr. Dozier penned and produced songs for the Supremes, the Four Tops, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Martha and the Vandellas, the Isley Brothers, and Marvin Gaye.

During the early 1970's Lamont formed his own record label and turned out a slew of hits for Freda Payne, the Chairmen of the Board, and a bunch more.

Today, Lamont Dozier is still doing his thing.  He is currently working with Kanye West, the Eurythmic's Dave Stewart, and the Black Eyed Peas.

So, happy birthday, Lamont!

Thank you for making all those great songs.

Here are just a few.  Enjoy!
