If you’re willing to make a day trip or weekend out of your girls’ get-together, try Galen Glen Winery in Andreas, PA in the rural heart of Lehigh Valley. If you’re a white wine lover, this is a can’t miss; the Riesling Fossil Vineyard was the only US wine that scared at the 2017 International Riesling Symposium. Folino Estate in Kutztown, PA is also a great find with a tasting room, vineyard and Italian restaurant all on site. Head there November 18-19 for a special pie and wine pairing event.

Take a Group Makeup Lesson

See Bad Moms Christmas at a next-level theater this month. There are plenty of dine-in theaters around the state but what makes the luxurious iPic Hudson Lights dine-in theater in Fort Lee a must-visit is the restaurant situated just downstairs from the theater. City Perch Kitchen + Bar is a great spot to hang before or after a movie and features farm-to-table fare from James Beard Award-winning chef Sherry Yard. Go early for happy hour, which is daily from 3-6 pm or pick a Friday or Saturday night when a DJ is on site from 9:30 pm until 12:30 am.

Check Out Midnight Market

On the second Friday of every month from 6:30 pm to midnight, Midnight Market has a pop-up food market where admission, food and drinks are all $5 each (bring cash). The events pop up all over They’re featured at events around NJ and NYC, but the company is based in Jersey City. November’s event on the 10th is a 90s Night Market, this time hosted in Kearny.

Go to a Food Fest

You don’t need to wait for festival season to return come back to hit an epic food fest. On November 11th in Rockaway, you can taste craft beer and local wine while listening to live music at the Just Jersey Food Truck and Music Festival. On November 13, head to the 18th YCS Annual Festival of Flavors in Park Ridge to taste signature dishes prepared by NJ chefs, as well as wine, beer and spirits from the area.

With 17 locations around the state, Pinot’s Palette is well-known in NJ. Choose a painting, throw on your apron and get to work. Don’t forget to bring your snacks or wine to this BYOB fave. ArteVino Studio has locales in 6 NJ towns and operates similarly to Pinot’s Palette. Join a regularly scheduled class or book a private party.

... and Beer Nerds

If beer is more your thing than vino, head to Plank Pizza Company Beer Parlor in Saddle Brook for a November Paint ‘n’ Gulp. This pub has 41 taps of craft beer (much of it from NJ), 300+ bottles, ciders and a handful of wines, plus unconventional sourdough flatbread pizzas and appetizers. Go November 8 to paint a Bridge in the Fall, or November 22nd for Midsummer Moonrise. There are similar Crafts and Drafts events going on in NJ this month, too, at Beach Haus Brewery in Belmar and Lone Eagle Brewing in Flemington.

Take a Cooking or Infusions Class

Classic Thyme Cooking School in Westfield hosts classes for kids and grown-ups. November sessions include Easy Weeknight Italian Dinner, Seafood 5 Ways and Hors d’ Oeuvres for Entertaining.

Try a chocolate class at 2 Chicks with Chocolate. Throughout November you can register for the Cocoa 101 class at the Metuchen location, in which you’ll learn about the hot drink, pair wine and chocolate and roll your own chocolate truffles.

Take an infusion class at Jersey Spirits in Fairfield on November 11. Learn to infuse spirits like vodka and rum with flavors like orange, coffee, lemon and cucumber.

Jersey City’s Liberty Science Center transforms into a 21-and-over nightclub on the third Thursday of every month. Local vendors, live music and food and drink come together to turn this learning center into a party, but guests can still explore scientific exhibits around the museum. November’s is Game of Thrones themed, called Whiskey and Winter Are Coming.
