Giants backup offensive tackle Stacy Andrews has been hospitalized with embolisms in both lungs.

Hours before playing the undefeated Green Bay Packers, the Giants said Andrews had been admitted to Hackensack University Medical Center on Saturday night and would not play Sunday.

The team says the blood clots are thought to have originated in his legs, broken up and traveled to his lungs.

Giants trainer Ronnie Barnes said Andrews is receiving treatment and resting in the hospital and will most likely be released Monday.

Andrews, 30, is an eight-year NFL veteran in his first season with the Giants. He played in nine of the first 11 games, starting three as an extra lineman/eligible receiver.
