Hundreds of firefighters gathered in central New Jersey for the funeral of a colleague who died last week while working at a house fire that authorities say was intentionally set by the home's owner.

Volunteer firefighter Bruce Turcotte collapsed at the scene last Thursday while laying hoses outside the Woodbridge house.

Authorities say the 58-year-old died of a heart attack.

Turcotte had served with the Hopelawn Engine Company for 38 years, formerly serving as its chief. A firemen's funeral was held for him on Wednesday.

Turcotte was one of several firefighters who responded to the blaze at the home owned by 56-year-old Robert Nass. Middlesex County prosecutors have determined that Nass intentionally set the fire, which also led to his death.
