For NJ senior, ‘devastating’ losses led to serving the needy
We all hope to have the same energy and passion for life into our senior years that we do now. That’s why we at NJ 101.5 along with our Sponsorship Partner, American Senior Magazine, ask our listeners to nominate a very special senior each week. This week’s nominee is Anna Pivano of Jackson.
At 90 years old, her daughter Cally reports that Anna is the epitome of a strong, selfless, loving soul. It’s one thing to say you care about people, but to put that care into action is a totally different thing.
After losing her husband to a devastating illness, she threw herself into volunteering at a soup kitchen, even cooking huge pots of soup and baked goods and bringing them there to serve to the needy.
And as if that weren’t enough, she also lent her time to Kimball Hospital’s thrift shop “Kimball closet.”
At 90 years old, she lives independently, continuing to encourage and inspire the friends and family who surround her. Hats off to you, Anna!
Tell us about your senior below. Submissions will be accepted through Nov. 21. Individual seniors will be selected by our staff and featured on-air and online once a week.
If your senior is chosen, he or she will be invited to New Jersey 101.5 for an upcoming commercial and invited to a luncheon at the the station.
