The is a bill pending in the state senate that would designate August 29, 2017 as Jim Florio Day. That's the Tuesday before the Labor Day Weekend.

We should all have the day off so we can read newspaper articles of what Jim did when he was governor and reflect on his accomplishments. Like in 1991 when he signed the largest tax increase in New Jersey history.

You have people in the senate like Steve Sweeney and Pat Diegnan singing his praises in proposing this idea. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Florio once and he seemed like a very nice man, but he is the prime example of how bad politics and government are in our beloved state.
