Do you know her? Woman caught on cam picking up teen’s wallet and stealing it, cops say

RIVERDALE — A woman was caught on video kicking away a wallet full of cash dropped by a teen shopping for Christmas and taking it for herself, police said.

Surveillance video released by Riverdale Police shows the light-colored wallet lying in the aisle of Walmart as its owner, a 15-year-old girl, was looking at a display with a second female on Sunday.

A woman spotted the wallet and kicked it away from her, then picked it up off the floor as a man walks up to the girls.

The wallet contained $125 in cash and was never turned over to store security, according to police. Walmart gave the girl a gift card so she would be able to get a present, but she donated to a charity instead.

Riverdale Police asked anyone who recognizes the woman to call them at 973-835-0034.
