Diana Gebbia’s ‘Throwback Thursday’ Picture

Every week, I engage in 'Throwback Thursday,' and post a memorable picture from my past on Instagram. This week's photo was from when my friends and I decided to stir up some trouble at my Communion Party. Dennis and Judi thought it was hilarious, and wanted me to share it with you.

I'm an Italian who is originally from Staten Island, New York. You can probably see where this is heading. For some reason, my Mom thought it would be a fantastic idea to hire a Frank Sinatra impersonator for an 8-year-old's party. Of course, I protested, because all I wanted to hear was Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys, but Mom's word ruled.

On the day of the party, it finally came time for the impersonator to perform. My friends and I all sat in a row behind him. We behaved for about two songs, until my friend Christina (in the blue and white dress) stood up with the inflatable microphones we were given, and started mocking him. Naturally, I followed, and after some convincing my friend Briana (in the blue long dress) joined in.

The impersonator welcomed us, and we ended up singing (or at least trying to sing) his entire set with him. It's definitely one of my fondest memories.
