Cyber Day - It may be hard to believe but winter is on the way.  There are some who are predicting a good deal of snow.  As we saw last year, that plays havoc with school schedules as districts try to make up all the days lost to snow-days. In Pennsylvania they are trying out "cyber days"...where students attend classes on-line. It's been talked about here as well and there does seem to be some support.

Give Backs to Stay Open - The owners of the Trump Taj Mahal say there is a chance the casino can remain open but only with huge concessions from union employees.  Trump Entertainment wants to halt pension payments and cancel healthcare coverage forcing employees to pay for theirr own Obamacare.  They are aslo asking for help from it's lenders.

Misjudging The ISIS Threat - President Obama says even though U.S.-led airstrikes on Syria are helping dictator Bashar Assad, his first priority is degrading extremists who are threatening Iraq and the west. In an interview on "60 minutes," Obama says the Islamic state group "Could kill Americans."

Another American Doctor Exposed - An American doctor exposed to the Ebola virus while volunteering in Sierra Leone has been admitted to a hospital near Washington. The patient has not been identified, but he is in a special isolation unit out of "an abundance of caution." officials say the doctor has not necessarily contracted the virus.

Concessions to Stay Open - Over the past 9 months 4 Atlantic City casinos have folded, and a 5th one, Trump Taj Mahal, could shut down later this fall. Gaming experts don't seem surprised that all of these closings are happening at the same time.

Tragic Death - The president of Cooper Hospital in South Jersey is dead this morning. He and his wife died in a fire at their home in Somerset County Sunday. The bodies of 72-year old John Sheridan and his wife Joyce were found in their bedroom where it appeared the fire started...

Red Light Camera Poll - New Jersey's red light camera pilot program will expire in mid-December and a new Monmouth University-Asbury Park Press poll shows Garden Staters are actually split about renewing it. The survey also asks if the cameras about safety or just a money grab.

A March for Barriers - Through the tears, calls are getting louder for protective barriers on the Victory Bridge. 500-marched on the bridge this weekend led by the family of a 16-year-old boy who lept to his death last week. It was the latest suicide off the Victory. There have been so many most are not even reported. A redesign of the bridge a decade ago created a high arch...which has drawn at least 84-attempted suicides...

Resolving the State Song Debate - Since the 1960's debate has raged over a state song. New Jersey is one of just a few states that doesn't have one. We might be getting close to compromise. There is growing support for naming not one...but -- in essence -- five state songs. Red mascara's "I’m From New Jersey" would be the official state song, but legislation would also name a state anthem, children's song, ballad, and a state popular song.

Caught in a Sting - A man from Brick thought he was meeting a 14-year old girl for sex. He was greeted by undercover police officers instead. 66-year old Richard Jones remains jailed this morning. Police say Jones had hired a prostitute to arrange the meeting in Freehold.

Keep Track of the Kids - Parents have a new tool at their disposal to monitor their children's mobile phone and social media activity.

Another Death in Freehold - A 7-yr old boy was killed in a car crash in Freehold this weekend. He was riding with his mother Saturday night when their car hit another. The mom is fine. Police are still investigating. This was in the same area where three people were killed last month.prompting more calls for a barrier to be built separating lanes...

Making College Affordable - When it reached his desk, Governor Christie conditionally vetoed a bill to create a College Affordability Study Commission. Christie asked for one change in the legislation, the sponsor of the bill agreed and the full Assembly is slated to vote on the new measure today.

Back on the Road - Governor Christie is on the campaign trail again today in Wisconsin to support Governor Scott Walker. Christie also made a stop for Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett.
