One analyst said it's the best news Gov. Chris Christie has gotten so far in this presidential campaign - the withdrawal of Scott Walker.

The Wisconsin governor said he has been called to help clear the Republican field, and hopefully find someone to take down front-runner Donald Trump.

Christie could be a beneficiary since they share many of the same values and campaign positions.

How much support, if any, Christie can gain from Walker's falling out remains to be seen. The latest polls show Walker with less than 1 percent support, falling from 10 percent just a few months ago.

CNN/ORC International poll released on Sept. 21 shows 53 percent of likely Republican voters support someone who has never held political office. Despite a strong debate performance, Christie remains at the bottom of the pack with only 3 percent support.  That puts him in ninth place. Christie received 2 percent support in CNN’s pre-debate survey.
