With just days until the New Hampshire primary and his presidential bid on life-support, there are very few reasons Gov. Chris Christie would take a night off from the campaign trail.

The Boss, however, is always a valid excuse for Christie, a self-described Bruce super-fan.

Christie quickly exited a late afternoon Town Hall in Henniker, NH after about 90 minutes.  He reportedly apologized to the crowd, saying he was running late for another event.

A short time later, he tweeted a picture of Springsteen on-stage with a caption that simply said “#136,” which is a reference to the almost unfathomable number of Bruce shows he has attended.

Luckily for Christie, he did not have to travel far for Thursday night’s concert, which was held just over an hour away at Boston’s TD Garden.

After a fun night watching his favorite musician perform, Christie will be right back on campaign trail, ahead of Tuesday’s pivotal primary.  He currently has four events scheduled on Friday.

Christie received a lot of attention over the last few days following a series of scathing verbal attacks against his chief GOP rival, Sen. Marco Rubio.  The two will be on stage together Saturday night for the latest Republican debate before the New Hampshire primary.

For Thursday night, though, Christie took a break from politics to take a ride with Bruce down to the river.
