Christie and Democrats Set for Another Fight
There is a new issue emerging that could mean more political and possibly even legal battling between Gov. Chris Christie and Jersey Democrats.
This latest fight centers on the promotion of state workers.
New rules are set to take effect next week that would give managers more flexibility to promote employees, based on criteria of their choosing and not on civil service exams.
Democratic lawmakers have threatened a lawsuit, claiming the new regulations were adopted illegally.
The Christie Administration says the Civil Service Commission made several changes to the new policies, which take effect on June 2, based on concerns from Democrats.
