The governor's office tells The Record newspaper that the Christies have filed for a six-month filing extension, though it did not specify why the extension was sought.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno filed her family's tax forms by Tuesday's deadline. But Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak says copies of Guadagno's returns won't be released until the Christies file their tax paperwork.

In October, the governor's office released tax forms that showed the couple earned $449,607 in 2010. That was down from the $544,047 they reported in 2009, according the tax returns.
