ABC 7 reports a pedestrian struck by the Coach USA bus as it drove into the Bank of America on Main Street around 2:30 p.m. was seriously injured. The driver of a car hit by the bus had to be cut out of their vehicle.

"I saw the bus starting to lose control over there and he made the U-turn going about 30 miles an hour and he hit the pedestrian right here," witness Thales Marques told ABC 7.

The bank sustained extensive damage but no bank customers or employees were injured in the accident.

“ONE Bus can confirm that one of our vehicles traveling from Orange heading towards East Orange with a final destination to Newark was involved in an incident today,” Sean Hughes, director of corporate affairs for Coach USA, told PIX 11. The driver of the bus was the only one on board.

New Jersey Fast Traffic reports Main Street in Orange is closed during the cleanup and investigation of the accident. New Jersey Transit Bus Nos. 21, 71, 73 and 79 are being detoured.
