The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame nominations have been announced and once again Bon Jovi is not among them. You mean to tell me that this band that has released eleven studio albums, three compilation albums and one live album, has sold 130 million records worldwide is not good enough to be inducted?

The nominees this  year are The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Meters,Randy Newman ,Rush, Deep Purple, Heart, N.W.A., Kraftwerk, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Albert King, The Marvelettes, Public Enemy, Procol Harem, Chic and Donna Summer (I never understood how “Hot Stuff” won the Grammy for best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1979 since I would never consider that a rock song.)

Regardless of what you opinion is of the nominated bands, when you look at them, you have to wonder how Bon Jovi  couldn’t make that grade?

According to Wikepedia,  They have performed more than 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 35 million fans. Bon Jovi was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2006. The band was also honored with the Award of Merit at the American Music Awards in 2004, and as songwriters and collaborators, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009.  How many of the other nominees can match those accomplishments? How can they not be considered Rock n Roll elite?
