WAYNE — Shoppers were evacuated from Willowbrook Mall in Wayne Monday evening, after a written bomb threat was found.

According to Wayne Police Lt. Mike O'Connor, the note was found shortly before the mall was scheduled to close. He said police and Willowbrook Mall security evacuated the shopping center after the note was discovered.

"The mall normally closes at 9:30 p.m., so it was fairly easy to evacuate everyone," O'Connor told NJ 101.5. "At this point, they're still investigating."

The lieutenant said the Passaic County Bomb Squad was also en route to the mall to investigate. As of about 9:13 p.m., no injuries were reported and no explosive devices had been located.

This is a developing story. We will post additional information as it becomes available.
