Scheduled construction on the New Jersey Turnpike southbound in the area of exit 8A will likely cause major traffic delays Saturday night.

Only one lane will be available between exit 8A  and exit 8 in East Windsor starting at 9PM as part of the widening project in that area. All lanes should be available by 7AM Sunday morning.

New Jersey Fast Traffic every 15 minutes will keep you updated of any delays.

The car and truck lanes normally merge from 6 lanes into 3 lanes at the Cranbury exit. When the widening project is complete in 2014 there will be 6 lanes  available.

One good alternate route is exiting at #9 in East Brunswick and taking Route 1  south to I-295 south in Lawrenceville to I-195 east in Hamilton  to rejoin the Turnpike.

Another route is Route 130 southbound to I-195. However, Route 130 passes near 8A and could pick up residual traffic.
