When it comes to a good time, nothing compares to a day in Asbury Park. On Sunday, March 8th, Asbury Park is going "green" for the St. Patrick's Day Parade featuring Big Joe Henry as the Grand Marshal and MC.

With its tremendous food, unique music venues, funky boardwalk, and beautiful beach, Asbury Park certainly has a lot to offer for people of all types. So what better place to celebrate the great St. Patrick than in this lively city?

The fun starts with Big Joe's brunch at 9 am at Tim McLoone's where he'll be broadcasting live from 10 am until noon. After that, Big Joe makes his way through the streets of Asbury! Follow Big Joe as the parade begins its journey on Ocean Avenue at 4th Avenue, marching southward toward Cookman Avenue and finally ending at Main Street.

Because this is such a huge event, make sure you get there early to secure parking and the perfect place to watch the parade.

According to the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce, parking will be restricted in the following locations:

  • Press Plaza (Emory St from Cookman to Lake) - no parking from 9am to 6pm
  • North side of Cookman Ave - no parking 9am - 6pm
  • West side of Ocean Ave - no parking 9am- 4pm
  • Fifth Ave from Ocean Ave to Bergh St - no parking 9am - 3pm (4th surface lot will be open & accessible).
  • City Hall Parking Lot - no parking Sunday from 9am - 6pm

As for the weather, Meteorologist Dan Zarrow says things are looking good for Sunday: temperatures should be in the upper 30s to lower 40s (pretty warm considering the frigid conditions we've been having!) with partly sunny skies. That's good news for you. Now you have no excuse to miss out on this incredible event!

Rock your shamrock shades, green sweaters and orange wigs, and get ready to get jiggy with Big Joe Henry this Sunday. We'll see you there!
