Analysis Cites NJ’s ‘Top 15′ Car Theft Locations

Newark, Irvington and Elizabeth top the list of "15 Places You're Most Likely to Have Your Car Stolen in New Jersey," according to an analysis by Patch.com.

The hyperlocal network compared total auto thefts from 2010 through 2012 with municipal populations to develop the list. Newark had 13.7 car thefts per 1,000 in population during that period, compared with Kearny, which placed 15th on the list with 3.36.
