NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League, Sammy’s Hope and Jersey Girls Animal Rescue to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.

Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Eliza

Eliza is a gorgeous tuxedo, although I’m sure she sees herself in the mirror in a flowing gown. She is a girly, girl kitty who loves to talk and purr. She is very patient in her kennel, not calling too much attention to herself, which must be why she is still with us. If you take a moment to meet Eliza, she is so happy and introduces herself as any proper lady should, gently. Don’t think she doesn’t like to play though. If Eliza gets the chance, she will toss a mouse or chase a fishing toy as fast as anyone. Eliza would love a family who can appreciate her refined self and then let her cut loose when only you are watching.

If you are interested in meeting Eliza or fostering/adopting her, please email us at cats@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the adoption application form here or you can see more adoptable cats from Sammy’s Hope here.

Adopt Jake

Jake was rescued after his owner was evicted from a boarded up house in Trenton. Jake was not cared for, and his fur was terribly matted. When we shaved him down, we found a wonderful, friendly dog underneath! Jake can be shy at first, but is a sweet dog who gets along with cats, dogs, and kids. He has proven to be very trainable and is very smart. He does have some separation anxiety and will bark if left alone. Our vet thinks that he is around 3-years-old and weighs around 17 pounds.  Jake tested positive for Lymes, but we are treating him with antibiotics and think that we can knock it out. Despite that, he's in great health.  At this point, Jake is a happy energetic dog who is looking for a home. The photos that we have are of Jake before he was shaved, so you can get an idea of what he will look like in a few months.

If you're interested in learning more about Jake or to schedule a visit, email his foster at ginaberger575@gmail.com. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs, puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Russell is a 7-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer.  He's playful, loves toys, other dogs and affectionate.  Russell is also very good in a crate and rides nicely in the car.  He's quickly becoming very popular among the rescue volunteers.  Russell is healthy, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Daisy is an American Staffordshire terrier mix who will win your heart the minute you meet her because she loves to give kisses. She was found as a stray with non-contagious mange, but she's a sweet girl with an even sweeter disposition. She's already looking better with treatment, and she's sure to be an instantaneous hit with you.

If you are interested in meeting Daisy or fostering/adopting her, please email us at info@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the application form here or you can see more adoptable dogs from Sammy’s Hope here.

Beth is a very cute tortie, with a lovely coat and markings. We think she is about  16-months-old.  She's very sweet, talkative, playful and a bit bossy. Beth is very curious about her surroundings. She enjoys chasing after toys and being petted.

To schedule a visit to meet Beth, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
