See our 4 adoptable NJ pets of the week – Wiggles, Mason, Gus and Millard
NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Friends of EMAS (Edison Municipal Animal Shelter) to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes. Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.
Adopt Wiggles
Wiggles is an absolute lover boy! He is simply the most friendly, gentle cat you will ever meet. We named him Wiggles because he starts to nuzzle and wiggle as soon as someone pets him. He's so easy going and he would blend in nicely with any family. Wiggles has beautiful, silky, long black fur, with a white diamond on his chest. He is a true gem of a cat!
He is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations and FIV/FeLV negative. Wiggles is currently at Edison Animal Shelter’s PetSmart Adoption Center, next to Costco on Rt. 27 in Edison.
If you're interested in meeting Wiggles or adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call us at 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable cats from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
Adopt Mason
Mason is looking for an active home where he can be the only dog. He is an eager learner and knows many commands including sit, stay and roll over. He can even balance a treat on his nose! As you can see from his photos, he's very trainable and patient.
Adopt Gus
Gus, a Pit Bull terrier mix, came to the Edison Municipal Animal Shelter as a stray and is anxiously awaiting his forever home. We think he is about 2 years old. He has brindle coloring and it looks like he might have some Mastiff mixed in there with his floppy jowls. He has one of those adorable smoosh faces.
Gus is one fine fellow with a very calm and cool demeanor once he is outside in the fresh air. He walks very nicely on a leash and loves to go for a nice stroll. One of his favorite pastimes is to lie down under a shady tree and get a belly rub every now and then. He is very smart and attentive during training and he already knows some commands. Gus is one of those dogs that will be very loyal once he gets to know and trust you.
You can watch a video of Gus here.
If you are interested in adopting Gus or fostering/adopting him, please email us at EAS@edisonnj.org or call 732-248-7278. You can see more adoptable dogs from Friends of EMAS here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
Adopt Millard
Millard was found under a shed with some other cats and brought to the Ewing Animal Shelter. We think his previous owner moved and dumped him. Millard is very friendly and enjoys human affection. He looks and acts like he was an outside cat. Millard is about 3 years old, neutered and up-to-date on his shots.
To schedule a visit to meet Millard, please email kitty@easelnj.org or call 609-883-0540. The Easel trailer and Ewing Animal Shelter are located at 2 Jake Garzio Drive in Ewing. Easel's cat and kitten trailer is open for adoptions Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m to 3 p.m. and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can find more of EASEL’s adoptable cats and kittens here, or download a PDF copy of the application form here.
