New Jersey State Police released video of their arrest of Diomedes Valenzuela during Tuesday's Amber Alert, and credited social media for helping locate his Dodge van on the Garden State Parkway in Clifton.

The dashcam video shows a cruiser following the van on the rainy Parkway as traffic moves over. The van pulls over to the shoulder and three uniformed and plain clothes officers surround the van, open the driver-side door, pull the 47-year-old out at gunpoint and force him to the ground.

One officer runs to the passenger side of the van and is joined by another officer to check on Valenzuela's 3-year-old Rebecca, grab her out of the van and carry her away.

An Amber Alert was issued late Tuesday afternoon after Valenzuela allegedly stabbed his wife in the Bronx and took their 3-year-old daughter Rebecca.  The girl was unharmed, according to State Police. Her mother was taken to an area hospital.

Capt. Stephen Jones told New Jersey 101.5 that State Police, knowing that Valenzuela was from Irvington, were dispatched to locations along a possible route and spotted his van on the Parkway.

An initial State Police Facebook post about the Amber Alert had 1.9 million views and 24,000 shares, according to Jones.

"We are building a following for law enforcement purposes," said Jones, citing occasions where the release of a photo of a suspect has generated tips that lead to an arrest.
