Ernest Williams and James Pitts, both of Montclair, entered their pleas during a Tuesday court hearing. Williams faces charges of felony murder, murder, robbery, conspiracy and weapons offenses, while Pitts is charged with robbery conspiracy and conspiracy to violate narcotics laws.

Villanova University student Brian Schiavetti was found dead last July in a Montclair apartment building.

Authorities say the Ridgefield, Conn. resident died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray has said the killing resulted from an attempted robbery. Schiavetti was interning at a financial firm in Manhattan at the time of his death.

Williams remains jailed on $750,000 bail, while Pitts has posted $100,000 bail.
