Authorities say the gunfire erupted on Walnut Street in Roselle just after 10 p.m. Thursday.

Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow says the victims were targeted.

The prosecutor says the victims, who were males, were socializing outside a home when the shots rang out.

The victims were identified as Breyon Williams and Anthony Howard, both 24, from Roselle.

Two other men, an 18-year-old from Roselle and a 25-year-old Newark resident were taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
