Trenton police kill gunman
TRENTON (AP) — Police shot and killed a man who officials say opened fire on their patrol vehicle in New Jersey's capital city.
The officers responded to a report of a man with a gun on Wilson Street in Trenton around 7 a.m. Thursday.
Mercer County Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Casey DeBlasio says the suspect fired at the officers' vehicle and the officers returned fire, hitting the suspect.
The suspect died at a hospital. His name has not yet been released.
DeBlasio says the patrol vehicle was hit with bullets.
DeBlasio says the two officers were taken to a hospital for evaluation, but they were not shot. Their names have not been released.
