Top 10 NJ guitarists, according to TV host Don Jamieson

This Saturday night, I'll be performing standup comedy with Emmy-Award winning comedian and former co-host of VH1's "That Metal Show" Don Jamieson at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park. Don's a Jersey guy and we got to talking about all the great guitarists to come out of the Garden state.

Here's his top 10 list:

1. Zakk Wylde (Ozzy)
2. Joe Taylor (Lita Ford band, Corey Glover band, Doro)
3. Mark Rizzo (Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly)
4. Richie Sambora (BonJovi)
5. Les Paul
6. Ron 'Bumblefoot’ Thal (Guns ’N Roses)
7. Joe Walsh (Eagles)
8. Al Dimeola
9. Snake Sabo (Skid Row)
10. Dean DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots)
11. David Cassidy (because I loved the Partridge Family as a kid)

Personally, I had no idea that Joe Walsh was a Jersey guy. Although he was born in Wichita, Kansas, he later moved here and attended Montclair High School where he played oboe in the school band. We're making an exception for that and the fact that he's friggin Joe Walsh!
