Eseosa Obaseki allegedly asked an online victim to transfer amounts of $100,000 or more to him, on more than one occasion, under false romantic pretenses and the promise of a "box of valuables."
A major phishing scheme has tricked several major companies -- among them, the messaging service Snapchat and disk-drive maker Seagate Technology -- into relinquishing tax documents that exposed their workers' incomes, addresses and Social Security numbers.
According to a local newspaper's investigation, "The Hurricane Sandy Relief Foundation" has raised $1 million dollars. However, the organization is not registered, is not tax exempt and has $800,000 in their account.
