If you're planning a hike in the Adirondacks, here's a heads-up from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. They want you to steer clear of trails above 2,500 feet in elevation.

One of our (My wife and I) favorite things to do is to get out and explore with a good hike. Over the years we have visited hundreds of parks around the nation and hiked so many right here in the Garden State.

There is no shortage of unique and interesting ideas to warm up your winter with something special.

The DEP is classifying the hikes into three categories: beginner, moderate, and difficult.

I've been trying to find outdoor spaces I had never been to or explored. There are a ton more out there than I expected!

Despite the weather, these trails are beautiful and begging you to come get some fresh air.

But please remember to keep your distance while visiting.

We have some great hiking trails across the Garden State, and now is a great time to head out in the woods for some peace and relaxation.

We took the kids up to Ramapo Mountain State Forest on Sunday for an hour long hike. We were looking for Todd trail where you're supposed to pass by some old abandoned mansion at some point but we'd never been there before and accidentally wound up on a different trail.
