Songs About New Jersey
We live right in between two of the biggest cities in the world. Countless songs have been written about the charm of New York City. Philadelphia tends to get brought up a lot... heck, one of Bruce Springsteen's most notable songs is "Streets of Philadelphia." (Ninth most downloaded Springsteen song on iTunes, winner of four Grammy Awards and one Academy Award.) But what about us, the man in the middle? Well, if you look hard enough, there just so happens to be a very nice collection of music that we can proudly use to represent us.
Here are a few highlights:
Chuck Berry - You Can't Catch Me
Bruce Springsteen - My Hometown
Bon Jovi - Who Says You Can't Go Home (The music video was shot in Philadelphia, but make no mistake! This song is about returning to your roots, and as we all know, Jon Bon Jovi is a Jersey boy!)
The Gaslight Anthem - Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts
Tom Waits - Jersey Girl
