A northern New Jersey man who admitted distributing child pornography online has been sentenced to three years in state prison.

State officials say Craig Dotson was sentenced Friday. The 24-year-old Roselle resident had pleaded guilty in August to second-degree distribution of child porn.

Dotson admitted that he knowingly used Internet file sharing software to make multiple child porn files available for download from a designated shared folder on his computer.

State and federal authorities had executed a search warrant at Dotson's home in January 2012. He was arrested, and officials seized two desktop computers from his bedroom.

Authorities say a forensic examination of the computers revealed that Dotson had more than 100 files of child pornography, including images and videos, over half of which he had shared with others online.
