Roadside memorials in NJ have gone to the next level
Last week I noticed a park bench in my development decorated with flowers, pictures, notes and a potted plant. I pulled over to see what it was and didn't realize what it was until it was replaced with the words "T H A N K Y O U" and two sheets of paper. It was then that I realized that a woman was memorializing the dog she had recently lost who she used to sit there with.
Another woman stopped when I was there and read the notes and just shook her head and said, "Oh God, give me a break". I'm sure most people were curious as to who may have lost their life there. God forbid it was a child on a bike or a car that lost control. No, now we are memorializing our pets where we used to walk them. The emotional incontinence seems to have no limits.
